BCM Process ExecutionThe execution or operational management of BCM will need continuous monitoring to ensure that the BCM plans created during the earlier stages are effectively maintained. If this process is not undertaken the BCM plans will gradually become less effective. We can undertake awareness training of personnel and if requested under take a programme of readiness assessment. An important control opportunity in this BCM process is Change Control. We have template procedures which can be used to help formulate your own procedures to monitor changes to the business and technology environment. As changes occur they are monitored for the impact to the BCM plans. Where necessary the plans can be updated and properly published. If the change to the business is substantial we can help advise on necessary changes to the BCM provision. If desired we can introduce software solutions that will facilitate maintenance of the BCM plan, but often a simple spreadsheet will be adequate. BCM plans should be tested on a rolling regular basis to ensure that they are effective and can cope with changes which might have occurred out side of the business. Perhaps a Business Unit has a new manager or has had a substantial turnover in staff. We can facilitate those tests and recertify as appropriate. |
