BCM Process InitiationWhere do you start in the introduction of Business Continuity to an organisation? If there are no previous preparations it can be a massive task affecting most of the managers within an organisation. We can lead you through the stages of building a BCM strategy. Working with you and the business sponsor we will help you define the scope of the strategy. An essential part of the project is to set scope boundaries and mileposts. If you do not do this the project will never finish and the Organisation will lose interest. We can help in educating senior management as to what steps are necessary to plan and deliver the strategy. We can help raising awareness of the commitment needed from the operational areas. You will need to identify which buildings, personnel, technology facilities and services will be included within the scope of the project. For example, in an investment banking environment you will need to include the Compliance Dept in any proposals for BCM Planning. It may be necessary to identify important suppliers and customers that should be considered during the process. At this stage you may be formulating an initial budget and identifying a team to work on this process. We can introduce software tools which can assist this process. For a smaller organisation a template plan may be available that can be modified to suit the requirements. |
